Tower Bridge, London
Planning to visit Tower Bridge? See our information below!
Information:
Tower Bridge is one of the most famous landmarks in London and even one of the most famous bridges in the world. Built in the late nineteenth century over the River Thames, Tower Bridge takes its name from the nearby Tower of London.
The Tower Bridge still works and opens its bascules about 800 times a year, which is about twice a day. That’s nothing at all compared to 1894, the first year of Tower Bridge, the bascules were lifted 6.194 times. An average of 17 times a day.
The real daredevil goes up and walks across the glass bridge, on the “second floor” of Tower Bridge, at 42 meters high. From here you admire the passing traffic and pedestrians on the walkway.
But even without walking the glass bridge, Tower Bridge is beautiful to see and should not be missed anyway during your visit to London. In addition, it is also one of the most photogenic spots in the city.
Opening hours:
Tower Bridge itself can be visited every hour of the day. The glass bridge at the top of the bridge can be visited every day of the year from 09:30 AM until 06:00 PM.
