The London Eye Ferris wheel is one of the most famous sights in the heart of London. A ride on this world-famous Ferris wheel is undoubtedly on everyone’s to-do-list. Its opening in 2000 earned it the title “Millennium Wheel”; at 135 metres high, it was the tallest in Europe and until 2006, in the world.

The London Eye is the best place in all of London to enjoy amazing views of the city, its skyline and some of its wonders, such as Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and St. Paul’s Cathedral. One lap on the Ferris wheel takes about 30 minutes and consists of 32 glass capsules (one for each London borough). Bring your loved one, because this will be a romantic ride!

A visit to the Tower of London is a must during your visit to London. This historic castle on the north bank of the Thames, is located in the centre of London. The castle served as a defensive fortress for more than nine centuries and was the centre of uninterrupted power in British and European history, now declared a World Heritage Site. Tower Bridge is one of the most famous landmarks in London and even one of the most famous bridges in the world. Built in the late nineteenth century over the River Thames, Tower Bridge takes its name from the nearby Tower of London.

The Tower Bridge still works and opens its bascules about 800 times a year, which is about twice a day. That’s nothing at all compared to 1894, the first year of Tower Bridge, the bascules were lifted 6.194 times. An average of 17 times a day.

The real daredevil goes up and walks across the glass bridge, on the “second floor” of Tower Bridge, at 42 meters high. From here you admire the passing traffic and pedestrians on the walkway.
