Information:

The Bou Inania Madrasa, this Koranic school in Fes is one of the most photographed places in the city. The Bou Inania Madrasa, is located in the middle of the narrow streets of the medina of Fes.

A madrassa was formerly used as a Quran school. A few decades ago, the smartest students were prepare here to become jurists, imams or other dignitaries. Fortunately these are no longer used today and it is now open to visitors.

The Medersa Bou Inania is very similar in architectural style and details to the famous Koranic school in Marrakech, but it is a lot smaller and usually a lot quieter. Here you can admire the beautiful carvings and detailed mosaics at your leisure. But the prayer hall is only reserved for Muslims.

The Bou Inania Madrasa is open every day from 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM.

Tips and Tricks!

Here are a few tips worth knowing before you visit Bou Inania Madrasa!

  • Come to the Bou Inania Madrasa as early as possible in the morning to avoid the biggest crowds.
  • The entree is 10 dirham per person and kids until 12 years old can enter for free.
