Planning to visit Wiener Prater? Check out our information below!

Wiener Prater city park is one of the city’s most fun to do things. The giant amusement park, lies between the Danube and the Danube Canal and used to be used as the Austrian emperor’s hunting grounds. In the 18th century, the park was opened to the public. Wiener Prater is now the oldest amusement park in the world, is full of roller coasters, merry-go-rounds and is completely free to visit.

Around the Christmas period, the city park is the place to be. This is because a cosy Christmas market is organised here during this period. Delicious hot drinks, live music, special shows and the Ferris wheel is particularly illuminated, making it one of Vienna’s main highlights.

Opening hours:

Wiener Prater is open every day of the year from 10:00 AM until 06:00 PM o’clock, entrance until 05:00 PM. The world-famous Giant Ferris Wheel and a few other attractions are open all year round.
