Kunsthaus, Graz

Planning to visit Kunsthaus (museum)? Check out our information below!

Information:

Graz was the European Capital of Culture in 2003, and a futuristic art museum was opened in its honour: the Kunsthaus. The spectacular architecture of the Kunsthaus will certainly not escape you. The building is made entirely of glass and behind each glass panel is a lamp that allows texts to be projected. The architect nicknamed the structure ‘Friendly Alien’. Some say the Kunsthaus looks like a cow’s udders while others see a bubble in it. The building is truly unique and I think one of the most photographed buildings in Graz.

The art museum itself houses both permanent and temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. The museum is not too big, allowing you to shuffle from exhibition to exhibition at your leisure. At the museum, you can also visit the museum cafรฉ for a nice lunch inside or on the terrace.

Opening hours:

The Kunsthaus is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 06:00 PM. On Mondays, the museum is unfortunately closed.
