Information:
On Lantau Island, you will find the Tian Tan Buddha statue, or the ‘Big Buddha’. The statue stands at Po Lin Monastery and symbolises the harmonious relationship between man and nature, man and faith. Po Lin Monastery is an important Buddhist centre in Hong Kong. The temple complex that houses the Tian Tan Buddha is definitely worth exploring in its entirety.
The Tian Tan Buddha is a 34-metre-high bronze Buddha statue, which rises some 500 metres above sea level and can be seen from far away. It’s no easy feat, but once at the top, the climb is 100% worth it!
