The Central Market in Kuala Lumpur is a must-see, it is an old building, but very colourful and fascinating. The Market should definitely not be missed during your visit to Kuala Lumpur. The Central Market was once a wet market (selling fresh fish, meat and other perishable food) built in 1888, but today it has become a fascinating destination for tourists, locals, shoppers and art lovers. Besides souvenir shops, there is also a food court on the second floor and Kopitiam (coffee shop) on the ground floor. The Central Market has now been classified as heritage by the Malaysian Heritage Society and is now a landmark for Malaysian culture and heritage.

Central Market in Kuala Lumpur is close to Petaling Street, Masjid Jamek and Chinatown. You can easily combine these sights on foot.
