What can you expect:

The Statue of Liberty dominates New York Harbor. The Statue of Liberty in New York is one of the most famous statues on the planet. And if you go to New York you should actually see it. The statue is 46 meters high, while the immense plinth counts another 47 meters. You can visit the crown (which is largely open) and look out over the city. Liberty Island is the island where the statue is on. It is best to visit this by ferry, which also visits another island: Ellis Island. You take the ferry from Lower Manhattan, such as Battery Park.

There are guided tours where you visit the island with a guide. And optionally climb the Statue of Liberty. During these tours you will get a lot of information about the island, its origin, the weathering and all the costs to make this monument exist.

An extra nice tip! Not everyone knows that you can also go to the pedestal of the statue. You walk, or rather climb, to the top of the pedestal. You can go there by elevator or, you have to climb 125 steps!
