What can you expect:
The Museum of Islamic Art is a museum on one end of the seven-kilometer-long Corniche in Doha, Qatar. The museum is built on an island off an artificial projecting peninsula near the traditional dhow harbor.
The works are made according to the traditional styles and techniques of the Middle East and Central Asia; a very impressive collection. Enjoy finely decorated ceramic pottery, glass, beautiful carpets, inlaid metalwork and antique manuscripts with a wealth of detail. And discover the fascinating, but still relatively unknown Islamic art world.
The building itself is also a sight to behold, designed by award-winning architect Leoh Ming Pei. Inside and outside beautifully covered with limestone that reflects the sunlight during the day.
