China is a country in East Asia. It is the second most populous country after India and the third most populous country in the world by land area. China borders 14 different sovereign nations. The national capital is Beijing and the largest city is Shanghai. China’s official language is Standard Chinese, but Mongolian, Uyghur, Tibetan, Zhuang and English are also well spoken throughout the country.
